Abstract

The clinical and investigational approach to multiple sclerosis has gone through major changes over the past decades. This presentation will give an introduction to the clinical and pathological hallmarks of the disease, followed by an overview of the traditional and novel biomarkers for diagnosis, prognosis and treatment response, with a focus on imaging techniques.

Short Bio

Valeria graduated in Medicine and Surgery at Sapienza University of Rome. She worked as a physician at the Multiple Sclerosis Center of Sant’Andrea Hospital in Rome for almost 10 years. She moved to Boston in 2016 to complete her Neurology residency at MGH. Her research focuses on advanced neuroimaging techniques applied to the study of multiple sclerosis pathogenesis and progression. Currently, she is appointed as a Radiology Research Fellow at BWH/Harvard Medical School.
