To conveniently operate on tumors in any location, flexible positioning is necessary. Elevation or lowering of the head is sometimes desirable to affect blood flow. A surgical table outside the scanner will enable positioning of the patient that is not afforded by the MRI table used during MR imaging. This table is radio-lucent and can be used with the c-arm fluoroscope. A transitional carriage will be developed for moving the patient from the scanner to this table.
